Setback for South Korea's president in local elections

President Lee Myung-bak, Grand National Party (GNP) lost his election to the Democratic Party (DP). Mr. Lee won only six posts out of seven posts. The reason why Mr. Lee lost his election is because of his tough stand with North Korea. North Korea torpedoed the South Korean ship and caused forty-six sailors to die. North and South Korea has cut relationship. GNP won only six out of 16 mayoral. Hence, South Korean people did not want to vote for GNP because they think Mr. Lee is too tough on North Korea. In my opinion, I agree with South Korean people that Mr. Lee should be more flexible with North Korea, so that the two countries can work together and be stronger. If they join together to become one nation it will be good for them in many ways.
